Health System Spotlight with 3M: Vaccination Quality Improvement Project
Description
On the May 2024 SSAAI Quality Improvement and Data Leads call, Dr. Karyn Leniek, Director of 3M Occupational Medicine, discussed their initiative to educate employees in two sites about COVID, flu and tetanus vaccines through an online learning module, Lunch n’ Learns, and nurse consults. The goal of the project was to reduce vaccine hesitancy and improve flu and COVID vaccination rates. Vaccine hesitancy was assessed via baseline and post surveys using the Adult vaccination hesitancy scale (aVHS). The project resulted in an increase in vaccination acceptance and self-reported COVID vaccination. 3M plans to expand the program to additional sites.
