This session features several organizations’ approaches around the advancement of equity, diversity, and inclusion across their organizations. ASCO’s comprehensive implementation incudes a focus on healthcare equity for people with cancer. ASH’s commitment includes dismantling of biased and discriminatory systems and the elimination of health disparities. Johns Hopkins School of Nursing has adopted a framework around inclusive excellence that includes diverse voices and recognizes their contributions. Societies and healthcare organizations should lead this change and demonstrate equitable delivery of quality care by working to build organizations that represent the populations they serve.
